Why is it called The Glass Castle?

The Glass Castle was named because while growing up Jeannette Wall's father imagined his future of living in a glasss castle. He imagined it being made of glass and including a glass staircase. He pictured his house to be energy saving and cut back on the bills by having solar cells. He would constantly dream of this house and he even once drew a blueprint of it. He always said they would be able to build this house as soon as they hit found gold. His dream of the house was endless, but when reality set in he knew his dream was unrealistic.
